Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is your school accredited?
We obtained national accreditation status through the National Private
Schools Accreditation Alliance in January 2004. Not only has the school,
itself, received this exceptional status, but our administrator is
listed nationally as a Professional Private School Administrator, and
all of our teachers are certified as Professionally Accredited Private
School Teachers. This is a tremendous honor for our school, faculty, and
staff! Most importantly, it guarantees that your child can graduate with
an accredited High School Diploma!
2. How many students are in a class?
We are very proud to carry a 1:12 Teacher/Student ratio! In a small
class environment, students receive more individual assistance and
attention, resulting in better student achievement.
3. Is it possible for my child to graduate with a regular diploma, even
though they may be participating in a special education program?
In many cases, the answer is yes! We accommodate your child's needs as
much as possible to give them the opportunity to grasp concepts in their
own way, and at their own pace. Many children who learn differently have
hidden "gifts" which can help them to excel. We implement a multiple
intelligence approach to learning which helps children find their gifts
and learn in their individual style.
4. Do regular education students attend this school with special
education students?
Yes, all parents with a desire to educate their child in a nurturing and
artistic environment are welcome to apply. Our cooperative learning
environment is advantageous for all students, not just those in special
education. It is our administrator's belief that all children deserve
the same opportunities for individual interactions with a teacher in a
small class environment. All children can benefit from a holistic
approach which submerses its students in the arts, humanities and
creative expression.
5. Private school education is so expensive. How can I afford to
enroll my child in your school?
If your child is enrolled in a public school in Florida, and has an
Individualized Education Plan (IEP), they are automatically eligible for
the McKay Scholarship, which is intended to pay for private school
tuition. We also participate in the Corporate Tax Scholarship Program,
deemed the Florida Pride Scolarship. For students without scholarships,
we have a reasonable payment plan and will do our best to accommodate
your personal financial situation.
6. Where is your school located?
We are located at 4408 George Rd., near the intersection of Memorial
Hwy. and George Rd. Our location, in Town and Country, is one of a few
schools in West Hillsborough County which services students with special
learning needs. We welcome you to set an appointment to tour our school!
7. How do I start the enrollment process?
It's so simple! Just call (813)880-0916 and request a meeting with the
Principal, Dawn White, to get the necessary paperwork and reserve a seat
for your child. If you would like for us to e-mail, snail-mail or fax
you an enrollment packet, we can do that too. Please take note, though,
that space is limited and slots are filling up fast!
